The Hurricane that Drowned New Orleans / The Storm that Drowned A City
(1 x 50m for WGBH & Five)
A minute-by-minute account of the devastation looking at what
made Hurricane Katrina so deadly and analysing how, despite
technically advanced flood and storm defences and advance disaster
relief planning, this event has resulted in destruction on an
unprecedented scale for the region. It also examines the questions
of whether storms, like Katrina, are increasing in frequency and
becoming more powerful as well as what economic and scientific
defences are available to overcome these events.
